4-I guide
If only we had received a reminder like those of the earlier peoples,
Start with bismillah.
Ask: "Is it easy to wish for something and then not use it when it comes?"
Watch the Stories of the Prophets video Prophet Ishaq and Yaqub.
Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "What did they wish they had?"
Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "Did they get the reminder they wished for?" Younger children can draw theirs.
Find it in the mushaf: Surah As-Saffat is surah 37. Find ayah 168. The key word dhikr means reminder. The Quraysh wished for a book like the earlier peoples had. Then Allah sent them the Quran, the greatest reminder of all. We have that reminder in our hands today. The question is what we do with it.
Fact: About how many pages does a standard printed mushaf have?
Ages 5–8: Treasure in hand. Hold the mushaf gently and say what a precious reminder it is.
Ages 9–12: Use the gift. Write a plan for reading a little of the Quran every day.
Finish with: "I found that it has about ___ pages."
Talk together:
Make a small plan: "This week, I will read at least one page of the Quran each day."
Action: Read at least one page of the Quran each day.
