فَٱسْتَفْتِهِمْ أَلِرَبِّكَ ٱلْبَنَاتُ وَلَهُمُ ٱلْبَنُونَ
Fa-s'taf'tihim' 'alirabbika l-banātu walahumu l-banūna
Now ask them their opinion: Is it that thy Lord has (only) daughters, and they have sons?-

So ask them their view: does your Lord have daughters while they keep sons for themselves?
Start with bismillah.
Ask: "Does Allah need a family like people do?"
Watch the IQRA Cartoon video Surah Al-Ikhlas, Kids Quran Tafsir.
Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "What claim did the pagans make?"
Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "Why can't Allah have children?" Younger children can draw theirs.
Find it in the mushaf: Surah As-Saffat is surah 37. Find ayah 149. The key word fastaftihim means ask them for their opinion. Some pagan Arabs claimed the angels were Allah's daughters, while they preferred sons for themselves. The Quran shows how unfair and illogical this was. Allah has no children at all. And in Islam, daughters and sons are equally precious gifts.
Fact: How many ayat does Surah Al-Ikhlas have?
Ages 5–8: Equal gifts. Draw a boy and a girl both labelled "a gift from Allah."
Ages 9–12: Ikhlas meanings. Write each ayah of Al-Ikhlas in your own words.
Finish with: "I found that Al-Ikhlas has ___ ayat."
Talk together:
Make a small plan: "This week, I will recite Surah Al-Ikhlas and think about its meaning."
Action: Recite Al-Ikhlas with meaning.
