إِلَّا مَنْ خَطِفَ ٱلْخَطْفَةَ فَأَتْبَعَهُۥ شِهَابٌۭ ثَاقِبٌۭ
'Illā man' khaṭifa l-khaṭ'fata fa'at'baʻahu shihābun thāqibun
Except such as snatch away something by stealth, and they are pursued by a flaming fire, of piercing brightness.

Except one who grabs a scrap, and a burning, piercing flame chases after him.
Start with bismillah.
Ask: "Have you ever seen a shooting star?"

Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "What follows the one who snatches something?"
Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "What are shooting stars really?" Younger children can draw theirs.
Find it in the mushaf: Surah As-Saffat is surah 37. Find ayah 10. The key word shihab means a blazing flame, like a shooting star. The ayah tells us something from the unseen: any devil who snatches a scrap is chased by a piercing flame. We also see shooting stars in our sky, bright streaks of light as tiny rocks burn up high above us. They are a sign to ponder, reminding us that Allah guards His creation.
Fact: In which month does the Perseid meteor shower usually peak?
Ages 5–8: Streak art. Draw a shooting star streaking across a dark page with chalk or crayon.
Ages 9–12: Meteor watch. Find out when the next meteor shower is and plan to watch it safely with family.
