لَا يَسْتَطِيعُونَ نَصْرَهُمْ وَهُمْ لَهُمْ جُندٌۭ مُّحْضَرُونَ
Lā yas'taṭīʻūna naṣ'rahum' wahum' lahum' jundun mmuḥ'ḍarūna
They have not the power to help them: but they will be brought up (before Our Judgment-seat) as a troop (to be condemned).

The false gods cannot help the people who worship them, even though those people stand by them like an army.
Start with bismillah.
Ask: "Who protects who: you or your toys?"
Watch the Momin Hamid video of Nouman Ali Khan, Breaking Idols.
Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "Who ends up guarding who?"
Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "Why do people protect things that cannot protect them?" Younger children can draw theirs.
Find it in the mushaf: Surah Ya-Sin is surah 36. Find ayah 75. The key word jundun muhdarun means an army ready. Scholars note the irony: people serve and guard their idols, cleaning them and keeping them safe, while the idols can do nothing for them. On the Day of Judgement those idols will not save anyone.
Fact: Which famous idol stood near Makkah and was named in the Quran, in Surah An-Najm?
Ages 5–8: Who helps whom? Draw a picture of you helping a plant, and the plant helping you with fruit, then talk about what idols cannot do.
Ages 9–12: Irony hunt. Explain the irony in this ayah in your own words.
