4-I guide
Allah tells believers that His earth is wide, so they should worship Him alone, even if they must move to do so.
Start with bismillah.
Ask: "Why might a family move to a new country?"
Watch the Omar and Hana episode Hijrah of the Prophet, with Mufti Menk.
Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "How does Allah call the believers?"
Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "Why did believers need to move?" Younger children can draw theirs.
Find it in the mushaf: Surah Al-'Ankabut is surah 29. Find ayah 56. The key word wasi'ah means spacious. In Makkah, believers were persecuted for worshipping Allah. Allah reminded them that His earth is wide: if one place does not let you worship, you can move. Many companions migrated to Abyssinia and later to Madinah.
Fact: Which African kingdom welcomed the early Muslims who first migrated from Makkah?
Ages 5–8: Wide world. Look at a globe and count how many places Muslims pray today.
Ages 9–12: New beginnings. Write about a family you know who moved to a new country and what they gained.
Finish with: "I found that it was the kingdom of ___."
Talk together:
Make a small plan: "This week, I will be kind to someone who is new in my area or school."
Action: Be kind to someone who is new in your area or school.
