Find it in the mushaf: Surah Al-'Ankabut is surah 29. Find ayah 14. The key words alfa sanatin illa khamsina 'aman mean a thousand years less fifty: 950 years. Nuh kept calling his people to Allah with patience for an incredibly long time. Most refused. In the end, the flood came on those who persisted in wrong.
