فَأَخْرَجَ لَهُمْ عِجْلًۭا جَسَدًۭا لَّهُۥ خُوَارٌۭ فَقَالُوا۟ هَٰذَآ إِلَٰهُكُمْ وَإِلَٰهُ مُوسَىٰ فَنَسِىَ
Fa'akh'raja lahum' ʻij'lan jassadan llahu khūārun faqālū hādhā 'ilāhukum' wa'ilāhu mūssā fanassiya
"Then he brought out (of the fire) before the (people) the image of a calf: It seemed to low: so they said: This is your god, and the god of Moses, but (Moses) has forgotten!"

The Samiri made a calf statue that made a sound, and the people foolishly called it their god.
Start with bismillah.
Ask: "Can something people made ever be a god?"
Keys To Knowledge has a short Ta-Ha clip of Mahmoud Khalil Al-Husary reciting ayat 88–94. Play it all.
Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "What did the calf seem to do?"
Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "How could people be fooled by a sound?" Younger children can draw theirs.
Find it in the mushaf: Surah Ta-Ha is surah 20. Find ayah 88. The calf was only a hollow statue with a sound. The people were tricked into worshipping it. Only Allah, the Creator, deserves worship.
Fact: How do hollow things make sounds when wind blows through them? Find out.
Ages 5–8: Blow a bottle. Blow over a bottle and hear the sound. It's not alive!
Ages 9–12: Only Allah. Write why made things can't be worshipped.
Finish with: "I found sound comes from ___."
Talk together:
Make a small plan: "This week, I will remember Allah before my favourite things."
Action: Remember Allah before your favourite things.
