أَفَلَا يَرَوْنَ أَلَّا يَرْجِعُ إِلَيْهِمْ قَوْلًۭا وَلَا يَمْلِكُ لَهُمْ ضَرًّۭا وَلَا نَفْعًۭا
'Afalā yaraw'na 'allā yar'jiʻu 'ilay'him' qaw'lan walā yam'liku lahum' ḍarran walā naf'ʻan
Could they not see that it could not return them a word (for answer), and that it had no power either to harm them or to do them good?

Allah asks: couldn't they see it could not answer them, harm them or help them?
Start with bismillah.
Ask: "Would you ask a statue for help?"
Put on Muhammad Al-Luhaidan's Ta-Ha from Mustawda' Furkan and follow along for a little while.
Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "What three things could the calf not do?"
Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "Who answers when I call?" Younger children can draw theirs.
Find it in the mushaf: Surah Ta-Ha is surah 20. Find ayah 89. The calf couldn't reply, hurt or help. Allah hears every du'a and answers. That's why we only call on Him.
Fact: Find where Ibrahim asks his people if their idols hear them when they call (Ash-Shu'ara 26:72).
Ages 5–8: Who answers? Talk about who answers your du'a.
Ages 9–12: Real help. Write the difference between Allah and things people make.
Finish with: "I found it in Surah ___, ayah ___."
Talk together:
Make a small plan: "This week, I will ask Allah alone for help."
Action: Ask Allah alone for help.
