وَإِذْ قَتَلْتُمْ نَفْسًۭا فَٱدَّٰرَْٰٔتُمْ فِيهَا ۖ وَٱللَّهُ مُخْرِجٌۭ مَّا كُنتُمْ تَكْتُمُونَ
Wa 'idh' qataltum' naf'san fa-ddārā''tum' fīhā . wa-llahu mukh'rijun mmā kuntum' tak'tumūna
Remember ye slew a man and fell into a dispute among yourselves as to the crime: But Allah was to bring forth what ye did hide.

Someone had been killed and the people argued over who did it, but Allah was going to bring out what they were hiding.
Start with bismillah.
Ask: "Can anything be hidden from Allah?"
Settle down and play the start of Mishary Alafasy's Al-Baqarah (QURAN HIFZ).
Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "What were they arguing about?"
Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "Why did Allah reveal the truth?" Younger children can draw theirs.
Find it in the mushaf: Surah Al-Baqarah is surah 2. Find ayah 72. This is why the cow was needed. A man had been killed and no one would admit who did it. Allah brought the hidden truth to light.
Fact: The cow was needed to reveal who had done the crime.
Ages 5–8: Truth comes out. Talk about why the truth always comes out.
Ages 9–12: Hidden truth. Write why hiding wrong doesn't work.
Finish with: "Allah brings out what is ___."
Talk together:
Make a small plan: "This week, I will own up to a mistake straight away."
Action: Own up to a mistake straight away.
