وَإِذْ وَٰعَدْنَا مُوسَىٰٓ أَرْبَعِينَ لَيْلَةًۭ ثُمَّ ٱتَّخَذْتُمُ ٱلْعِجْلَ مِنۢ بَعْدِهِۦ وَأَنتُمْ ظَٰلِمُونَ
Wa 'idh' wāʻad'nā mūssā 'ar'baʻīna lay'latan thumma (i)ttakhadh'tumu l-ʻij'la min[m] baʻ'dihī wa'antum' ẓālimūna
And remember We appointed forty nights for Moses, and in his absence ye took the calf (for worship), and ye did grievous wrong.

Remember when Allah appointed forty nights for Musa, and while he was away some of them took the calf to worship, doing great wrong.
Start with bismillah.
Ask: "What happens when a leader goes away for a while?"
Tafseer Of Quran posted a short recitation of ayah 51 of Al-Baqarah. Listen to all of it together.
Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "How many nights?"
Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "Why did some turn to a calf so quickly?" Younger children can draw theirs.
Find it in the mushaf: Surah Al-Baqarah is surah 2. Find ayah 51. While Musa was meeting Allah on the mountain, some made a golden calf to worship. It shows how quickly people can slip without reminders.
Fact: Musa spent forty nights on Mount Sinai (7:142).
Ages 5–8: Stay good. Talk about being good when no one is watching.
Ages 9–12: Quick slips. Write how to stay firm when a leader is away.
Finish with: "Musa spent ___ nights on the mountain."
Talk together:
Make a small plan: "This week, I will do my prayers on time even when no one reminds me."
Action: Do your prayers on time even when no one reminds you.
