۞ أَتَأْمُرُونَ ٱلنَّاسَ بِٱلْبِرِّ وَتَنسَوْنَ أَنفُسَكُمْ وَأَنتُمْ تَتْلُونَ ٱلْكِتَٰبَ ۚ أَفَلَا تَعْقِلُونَ
'ata''murūna nnāssa bil-birri watansaw'na 'anfussakum' wa'antum' tat'lūna l-kitāba . 'afalā taʻ'qilūna
Do ye enjoin right conduct on the people, and forget (To practise it) yourselves, and yet ye study the Scripture? Will ye not understand?

Do you tell others to do good while forgetting to do it yourselves, even though you read the scripture, without thinking about it?
Start with bismillah.
Ask: "Is it fair to tell others to do what you don't do?"
Satu Huruf Al-Qur'an 10 Kebaikan has a short Al-Baqarah clip of Mishary Alafasy reciting ayat 41–45. Play it all.
Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "Whom do they forget?"
Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "Why must we practise what we say?" Younger children can draw theirs.
Find it in the mushaf: Surah Al-Baqarah is surah 2. Find ayah 44. Telling others to be good but not doing it ourselves is unfair. The strongest reminders come from people who act on them first.
Fact: Children learn more from what adults do than from what they say, studies show.
Ages 5–8: Do first. Do a good deed before asking someone else to.
Ages 9–12: Example. Write why actions speak louder than words.
Finish with: "Practise what you ___."
Talk together:
Make a small plan: "This week, I will do what I tell others to do."
Action: Do what you tell others to do.
