وَكَانَ يَأْمُرُ أَهْلَهُۥ بِٱلصَّلَوٰةِ وَٱلزَّكَوٰةِ وَكَانَ عِندَ رَبِّهِۦ مَرْضِيًّۭا
Wa kāna ya''muru 'ah'lahu bi ṣṣalāti wa zzakāti wakāna ʻinda rabbihī mar'ḍiyyan
He used to enjoin on his people Prayer and Charity, and he was most acceptable in the sight of his Lord.

Ismail told his family to pray and give charity, and his Lord was pleased with him.
Start with bismillah.
Ask: "Who reminds your family to pray?"
For a few quiet minutes, listen to As-Sudais and Ash-Shuraim reciting Maryam, shared by quran4listeners.
Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "What did Ismail tell his family?"
Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "Why start good habits at home?" Younger children can draw theirs.
Find it in the mushaf: Surah Maryam is surah 19. Find ayah 55. Ismail didn't just pray himself; he encouraged his family too. Good starts at home. Allah was pleased with him.
Fact: Find the ayah that says command your family to pray (Ta-Ha 20:132).
Ages 5–8: Prayer reminder. Be the one who gently reminds your family about prayer.
Ages 9–12: Home habits. Write a family plan for prayer and charity.
Finish with: "I found it in Surah ___, ayah ___."
Talk together:
Make a small plan: "This week, I will gently remind my family about prayer."
Action: Gently remind your family about prayer.
