وَٱذْكُرْ فِى ٱلْكِتَٰبِ إِسْمَٰعِيلَ ۚ إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ صَادِقَ ٱلْوَعْدِ وَكَانَ رَسُولًۭا نَّبِيًّۭا
Wa -dh'kur' fī l-kitābi 'is'māʻīla . 'innahu kāna ṣādiqa l-waʻ'di wakāna rassūlan nnabiyyan
Also mention in the Book (the story of) Isma'il: He was (strictly) true to what he promised, and he was a messenger (and) a prophet.

Allah tells us to remember Ismail, who always kept his promises and was a messenger and a prophet.
Start with bismillah.
Ask: "How do you feel when someone keeps a promise to you?"
Put on Salah Bukhatir's Maryam from Quran English Translation and follow along for a little while.
Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "What was Ismail known for?"
Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "Why is keeping promises so important?" Younger children can draw theirs.
Find it in the mushaf: Surah Maryam is surah 19. Find ayah 54. Ismail, peace be upon him, was praised for keeping his word. Trustworthy people keep promises, big and small.
Fact: Find the ayah that says fulfil your promises (Al-Isra 17:34).
Ages 5–8: Promise keeper. Make one small promise and keep it.
Ages 9–12: Promises. Write why keeping promises builds trust.
Finish with: "I found it in Surah ___, ayah ___."
Talk together:
Make a small plan: "This week, I will keep every promise I make."
Action: Keep every promise you make.
