قَالَ أَرَاغِبٌ أَنتَ عَنْ ءَالِهَتِى يَٰٓإِبْرَٰهِيمُ ۖ لَئِن لَّمْ تَنتَهِ لَأَرْجُمَنَّكَ ۖ وَٱهْجُرْنِى مَلِيًّۭا
Qāla 'arāghibun 'anta ʻan' 'ālihatī yā'ib'rāhīmu . la'in llam' tantahi la'ar'jumannaka . wa-h'jur'nī maliyyan
(The father) replied: "Dost thou hate my gods, O Abraham? If thou forbear not, I will indeed stone thee: Now get away from me for a good long while!"

His father angrily asked if he rejected his gods, threatened him harshly, and told him to go away for a long time.
Start with bismillah.
Ask: "What do you do when someone answers kindness with anger?"
Begin Saud Ash-Shuraim's Maryam on AyaaturRahman and listen for a few minutes.
Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "How did the father reply?"
Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "How did Ibrahim stay calm?" Younger children can draw theirs.
Find it in the mushaf: Surah Maryam is surah 19. Find ayah 46. Ibrahim's father became angry and threatened him harshly. It was very sad. But Ibrahim didn't shout back. His reply in the next ayah is full of peace.

Ages 5–8: Calm answer. Practise answering angry words with a calm voice.
Ages 9–12: Patience. Write how to stay calm when someone is angry with you.
Finish with: "I found his first word was ___."
Talk together:
Make a small plan: "This week, I will answer anger with a calm voice."
