يَٰٓأَبَتِ إِنِّىٓ أَخَافُ أَن يَمَسَّكَ عَذَابٌۭ مِّنَ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ فَتَكُونَ لِلشَّيْطَٰنِ وَلِيًّۭا
Yā'abati 'innī 'akhāfu 'an yamassaka ʻadhābun mmina rraḥ'māni fatakūna li shshay'ṭāni waliyyan
"O my father! I fear lest a Penalty afflict thee from (Allah) Most Gracious, so that thou become to Satan a friend."

Ibrahim told his father he was worried that punishment from the Most Merciful might reach him and he would end up close to Shaytan.
Start with bismillah.
Ask: "How do you feel when someone you love is in danger?"
Listen together as Abdur-Rahman As-Sudais recites part of Maryam of Maryam, a short clip shared by The holy dvd English.
Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "What was Ibrahim afraid of for his father?"
Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "Why did Ibrahim warn out of love?" Younger children can draw theirs.
Find it in the mushaf: Surah Maryam is surah 19. Find ayah 45. Ibrahim warned his father because he loved him. He didn't want him to be harmed. Warnings from people who love us are a mercy.
Fact: Find the du'a Ibrahim made for his parents (Ibrahim 14:41).
Ages 5–8: Caring words. Practise warning a friend kindly about danger.
Ages 9–12: Love and warning. Write why loving people warn us.
Finish with: "I found it in Surah ___, ayah ___."
Talk together:
Make a small plan: "This week, I will make du'a for my parents."
Action: Make du'a for your parents.
