فَأَجَآءَهَا ٱلْمَخَاضُ إِلَىٰ جِذْعِ ٱلنَّخْلَةِ قَالَتْ يَٰلَيْتَنِى مِتُّ قَبْلَ هَٰذَا وَكُنتُ نَسْيًۭا مَّنسِيًّۭا
How to read it
Fa'ajā'ahā l-makhāḍu 'ilā jidh'ʻi nnakh'lati qālat' yālay'tanī mittu qab'la hādhā wakuntu nas'yan mmansiyyan
And the pains of childbirth drove her to the trunk of a palm-tree: She cried (in her anguish): "Ah! would that I had died before this! would that I had been a thing forgotten and out of sight!"
