قَالَ مَا مَكَّنِّى فِيهِ رَبِّى خَيْرٌۭ فَأَعِينُونِى بِقُوَّةٍ أَجْعَلْ بَيْنَكُمْ وَبَيْنَهُمْ رَدْمًا
Qāla mā makkannī fīhi rabbī khay'run fa'aʻīnūnī biquwatin 'aj'ʻal' bay'nakum' wabay'nahum' rad'man
He said: "(The power) in which my Lord has established me is better (than tribute): Help me therefore with strength (and labour): I will erect a strong barrier between you and them:

He said what his Lord had given him was better than their payment, and asked them to help with their strength so he could build a strong barrier.
Start with bismillah.
Ask: "Would you help without being paid?"
Listen together as Saud Ash-Shuraim recites ayat 83–110 of Al-Kahf, a short clip shared by Quran Recitations.
Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "What did he refuse?"
Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "Why did he ask them to help?" Younger children can draw theirs.
Find it in the mushaf: Surah Al-Kahf is surah 18. Find ayah 95. Dhul-Qarnayn refused payment because Allah had given him enough. He asked the people to work together. Teamwork and generosity built the barrier.
Fact: Find the ayah 'cooperate in goodness' (Al-Ma'idah 5:2).
Ages 5–8: Team build. Build a block wall together as a team.
Ages 9–12: Teamwork. Write why working together matters.
Finish with: "I found it in Surah ___, ayah ___."
Talk together:
Make a small plan: "This week, I will help with a family task for free."
