فَأَرَدْنَآ أَن يُبْدِلَهُمَا رَبُّهُمَا خَيْرًۭا مِّنْهُ زَكَوٰةًۭ وَأَقْرَبَ رُحْمًۭا
Fa'arad'nā 'an yub'dilahumā rabbuhumā khay'ran mmin'hu zakātan wa'aq'raba ruḥ'man
"So we desired that their Lord would give them in exchange (a son) better in purity (of conduct) and closer in affection.

4-I guide
The hope was that their Lord would give them, in his place, a child who was purer and more loving and kind.
Start with bismillah.
Ask: "What makes a child a blessing to parents?"
Islam Sobhi Recitations has the whole of Al-Kahf by Islam Sobhi. Play just the first stretch.
Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "What two qualities would the new child have?"
Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "How does Allah replace a loss with something good?" Younger children can draw theirs.
Find it in the mushaf: Surah Al-Kahf is surah 18. Find ayah 81. Allah can replace a loss with something better. The new child would be purer and more merciful. Kindness and goodness make children a blessing.
Fact: Find the ayah about Allah replacing with something better (Al-Qalam 68:32).
Ages 5–8: Blessing child. Draw ways you can be kind to your parents.
Ages 9–12: Mercy. Write how children can be merciful to parents.
Finish with: "I found it in Surah ___, ayah ___."
Talk together:
Make a small plan: "This week, I will do something kind for my parents every day."
Action: Do something kind for your parents every day.
