Lā yu''minūna bihī . waqad' khalat' sunnatu l-'awwalīna

They still would not believe, though the example of earlier peoples is already known.
Start with bismillah.
Ask: "Can we learn from people who lived long ago?"
Abdul Basit Abdus-Samad recites Al-Hijr on روائع فضيلة الشيخ/ عبد الباسط عبد الصمد. A few minutes is plenty.
Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "Whose way has already passed?"
Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "Why don't people learn from the past?" Younger children can draw theirs.
Find it in the mushaf: Surah Al-Hijr is surah 15. Find ayah 13. The stories of earlier peoples are lessons. Some people ignore them. The wise learn from history.
Fact: Find the ayah that says in their stories is a lesson (Yusuf 12:111).
Ages 5–8: History lesson. Share a lesson from a story you know.
Ages 9–12: Learn from the past. Write one lesson from an earlier people.
Finish with: "I found it in Surah ___, ayah ___."
Talk together:
Make a small plan: "This week, I will learn one lesson from a Quran story."
Action: Learn one lesson from a Quran story.
