ٱقْتُلُوا۟ يُوسُفَ أَوِ ٱطْرَحُوهُ أَرْضًۭا يَخْلُ لَكُمْ وَجْهُ أَبِيكُمْ وَتَكُونُوا۟ مِنۢ بَعْدِهِۦ قَوْمًۭا صَٰلِحِينَ
Uq'tulū yūssufa 'awi (i)ṭ'raḥūhu 'ar'ḍan yakh'lu lakum' waj'hu 'abīkum' watakūnū min[m] baʻ'dihī qaw'man ṣāliḥīna
"Slay ye Joseph or cast him out to some (unknown) land, that so the favour of your father may be given to you alone: (there will be time enough) for you to be righteous after that!"

Some of them suggested getting rid of Yusuf or sending him far away so their father's attention would be theirs, planning to be good people afterwards.
Start with bismillah.
Ask: "Can you plan to do wrong now and be good later?"
Mishary Alafasy recites Yusuf on Ehl e Quran. A few minutes is plenty.
Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "What did they plan to do afterwards?"
Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "Why is 'I'll be good later' a trick of Shaytan?" Younger children can draw theirs.
Find it in the mushaf: Surah Yusuf is surah 12. Find ayah 9. Jealousy grew into a terrible plan to get rid of Yusuf. They even told themselves they would become good afterwards. This shows how jealousy can lead to big wrongs if we don't stop it early.
Fact: Read 12:5 again. How does it connect to this ayah?
Ages 5–8: Stop early. Talk about how a small angry thought can grow if we don't stop it.
Ages 9–12: Later trap. Write why planning to do wrong and repent later is dangerous.
Finish with: "12:5 warned that ___."
Talk together:
Make a small plan: "This week, I will say a'udhu billah when I feel a bad thought."
Action: Say a'udhu billah when you feel a bad thought.
