إِذْ قَالُوا۟ لَيُوسُفُ وَأَخُوهُ أَحَبُّ إِلَىٰٓ أَبِينَا مِنَّا وَنَحْنُ عُصْبَةٌ إِنَّ أَبَانَا لَفِى ضَلَٰلٍۢ مُّبِينٍ
'Idh' qālū layūssufu wa'akhūhu 'aḥabbu 'ilā 'abīnā minnā wanaḥ'nu ʻuṣ'batun 'inna 'abānā lafī ḍalālin mmubīnin
They said: "Truly Joseph and his brother are loved more by our father than we: But we are a goodly body! really our father is obviously wandering (in his mind)!

The brothers said their father loved Yusuf and his brother more than them, though they were a strong group, and they thought their father was clearly wrong.
Start with bismillah.
Ask: "Have you ever felt someone else got more attention than you?"
Al-Minshawi official has the whole of Yusuf by Muhammad Siddiq Al-Minshawi. Play just the first stretch.
Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "What did the brothers complain about?"
Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "What should I do when I feel jealous?" Younger children can draw theirs.
Find it in the mushaf: Surah Yusuf is surah 12. Find ayah 8. The older brothers felt their father loved Yusuf and his younger brother more. Jealousy grew in their hearts. Jealousy is a feeling we must handle carefully before it leads to wrong actions.
Fact: Al-Falaq 113:5 asks Allah's protection from the harm of an envier. Learn it.
Ages 5–8: Feelings check. Draw a face for 'jealous' and talk about what to do with that feeling.
Ages 9–12: Handling jealousy. Write three good things to do when you feel jealous.

Talk together:
Make a small plan: "This week, I will say something kind to a sibling or friend I feel jealous of."
Action: Say something kind to a sibling or friend you feel jealous of.
