The story of Yusuf and his brothers holds signs for people who ask questions.
Start with bismillah.
Ask: "What question would you like to ask about Yusuf's story?"
Settle down and play the start of Abdul Rahman Al-Ossi's Yusuf (Aldo Risaldy).
Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "Who are the signs for?"
Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "What can I learn by asking good questions?" Younger children can draw theirs.
Find it in the mushaf: Surah Yusuf is surah 12. Find ayah 7. This story is full of lessons for curious people. Asking 'why?' and 'what can I learn?' helps the story change us.
Fact: Count how many brothers Yusuf had.
(Hint: think about the eleven stars.)
Ages 5–8: Question jar. Write questions about the story and put them in a jar.
Ages 9–12: Good questions. Write three questions you want answered by the end of the surah.
Finish with: "Yusuf had ___ brothers."
Talk together:
