4-I guide
This ayah teaches us to ask Allah's protection from people who try to harm others in secret, hidden ways.
Start with bismillah.
Give each child a piece of string with a few tight knots in it. Ask: "Which is easier: tying a knot or untying one?"
Watch the video of weaverbirds building their nests. These small birds tie real knots with grass, using only their beaks and feet!
Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "What does this ayah ask Allah to protect us from?" If children want to know more, write their questions down for a teacher or an ustaz/ustazah.
Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "Why would anyone want to harm someone in secret?" Younger children can draw theirs.
Find it in the mushaf: Surah Al-Falaq is surah 113. Find ayah 4. It is the third thing in the list that began in ayah 2.
Fact: About how many strands of grass does a weaverbird use to build one nest?
Ages 5–8: Knot practice. Learn to tie a bow and a square knot. Then untie them. Which one is quicker to undo?
Ages 9–12: Knot strength test. Tie three different knots in three pieces of string. Hang a small bag from each and add coins one at a time until a knot slips. Which held the most?
Finish with: "I found that the ___ knot held the most."

Talk together:
Make a small plan: "This week, at ___, I will ask Allah for protection and remember that I don't need to be afraid."
Action: Do your plan daily, and notice how it feels.
