4-I guide
This ayah is about staying firm: Muslims will not worship what others have worshipped.
Start with bismillah.
Gently pull on a small weed, then on a strong, well-rooted plant (don't pull it out!). Ask: "Which one holds on tighter? Why?"
Watch the video about counting the rings of a tree to find out how old it is.
Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "What is this ayah saying Muslims will never do?"
Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "How do trees stay standing for hundreds of years?" Younger children can draw theirs.
Find it in the mushaf: Surah Al-Kafirun is surah 109. Find ayah 4, then look back at ayah 2. They are similar, but ayah 4 talks about the past. Which words in the translation show that?
Fact: How can you tell a tree's age from the rings in its trunk?
Ages 5–8: Count the rings. Find a tree stump (or use the picture) and count the rings from the middle outwards. How old was the tree?
Ages 9–12: Root watch. Put a cutting of mint or a money plant in a glass of water. Measure its roots every two days for two weeks and make a chart.
Finish with: "I found that the tree was about ___ years old."

Talk together:
Make a small plan: "Every day this week, I will grow my roots by ___ at ___."
Action: Try your plan out each day this week.
