4-I guide
This ayah asks a question about the striking Day, to make us stop and think how great it will be.
Start with bismillah.
A note for parents: keep this calm and curious; earthquakes here are about Allah's power, not fear.
Ask: "Why do teachers sometimes ask a question before they tell you the answer?"
Watch the National Geographic video about earthquakes and how the ground can shake and change.
Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "What question does this ayah ask?"
Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "Why does the Quran ask questions?" Younger children can draw theirs.
Find it in the mushaf: Surah Al-Qari'ah is surah 101. Find ayah 2. Which word from ayah 1 is repeated here?
Fact: What causes earthquakes?
Ages 5–8: Jelly quake. Build a little tower of sugar cubes on a plate of jelly, then gently shake the plate. What happens?
Ages 9–12: Strong buildings. Build two towers of cards or straws, one with a wide base and cross-braces. Shake the table: which stands longer?
Finish with: "I found that the tower with ___ stood longer."

Talk together:
Make a small plan: "This week, when I feel safe and steady, I will say ___ and thank Allah."
Action: Keep to your plan all week, and tick it off each day.
