4-I guide
This ayah opens Surah Al-Qari'ah with one powerful word: the name of a great Day that will strike with a mighty noise.
Start with bismillah.
A gentle note for parents: keep this about wonder at Allah's power; no scary details are needed.
Sit quietly for one minute and listen. Then ask: "What is the loudest sound you have ever heard? How did it make you feel?"
Watch the BBC Earth Science video about the biggest waves in the ocean and the huge force they strike with.
Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "This ayah is just one word! What do you think it means?"
Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "What will that Day be like?" Younger children can draw theirs.
Find it in the mushaf: Surah Al-Qari'ah is surah 101, and it has eleven ayat. Find ayah 1. How many words does it have in the Arabic?
Fact: What makes some ocean waves so huge?
Ages 5–8: Sound hunt. Close your eyes for two minutes and list every sound you hear, from the quietest to the loudest.
Ages 9–12: Wave tank. In a long tray of water, make waves with a ruler, softly then strongly. How does the strength of the push change the wave?
Finish with: "I found that the loudest sound around me was ___."

Talk together:
Make a small plan: "This week, I will get ready for that Day by doing ___ every day at ___."
Action: Try your plan out each day this week.
