وَيَحْلِفُونَ بِٱللَّهِ إِنَّهُمْ لَمِنكُمْ وَمَا هُم مِّنكُمْ وَلَٰكِنَّهُمْ قَوْمٌۭ يَفْرَقُونَ
Wa yaḥ'lifūna bi-llahi 'innahum' laminkum' wamā hum mminkum' walākinnahum' qaw'mun yaf'raqūna
They swear by Allah that they are indeed of you; but they are not of you: yet they are afraid (to appear in their true colours).

They swore by Allah that they were part of the believers, but they were not; they were simply afraid.
Start with bismillah.
Ask: "Why do people sometimes pretend to fit in?"
Play the short clip from Daily listen Quran of Mishary Alafasy reciting ayat 55–61 of At-Tawbah.
Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "What were they afraid of?"
Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "Why is being real better than pretending?" Younger children can draw theirs.
Find it in the mushaf: Surah At-Tawbah is surah 9. Find ayah 56. These people pretended to be Muslims because they were afraid of being found out. Islam asks us to be sincere, not pretenders. Being real takes courage.
Fact: How a chameleon changes colour to blend in. A sign to ponder.
Ages 5–8: Be you. Share one thing you like about being yourself.
Ages 9–12: Real courage. Write why being sincere takes courage.
Finish with: "A chameleon changes ___ to blend in."
Talk together:
Make a small plan: "This week, I will be honest about who I am."
Action: Be honest about who you are.
