Ask: "How can you tell if someone really means to do something?"

Listen together as Mishary Alafasy recites ayat 41–50 of At-Tawbah, a short clip shared by Holy Qur'an.

Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "What did they not do?"

Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "Why does preparation show sincerity?" Younger children can draw theirs.

Find it in the mushaf: Surah At-Tawbah is surah 9. Find ayah 46. Those who meant to go got ready. These people never prepared at all. Allah knew their hearts weren't in it, so He kept them back. Getting ready shows you mean it.

Fact: A saying of wise people: failing to prepare is preparing to fail.

Ages 5–8: Get ready. Pack your school bag the night before.

Ages 9–12: Preparation. Write how preparing shows you mean it.

Finish with: "Preparing shows we are ___."

Talk together:

• What did they not do?
• Which name of Allah does this remind you of?
• Why does preparing matter?
• What can you prepare for this week?

Make a small plan: "This week, I will prepare for something important in advance."

• Preparation shows sincerity.
• Pack your bag early.
• Mean what you plan.
• Next time: the next ayah (9:47) says they would only have caused trouble. Explore it together!
