4-I guide
This ayah mentions Thamud, who carved out rocks in the valley.
Start with bismillah.
Try to carve a shape out of a bar of soap with a lolly stick. Ask: "Was it easy? How long would it take to carve a house from rock?"
Watch the short video about how water carved Antelope Canyon out of solid sandstone.
Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "What did the people of Thamud do?"
Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "How long does it take water to carve a canyon?" Younger children can draw theirs.
Find it in the mushaf: Surah Al-Fajr is surah 89. Find ayah 9. You met Thamud in Surah Ash-Shams (91:11). The key word jabu means they cut out, carved.
Fact: What carved the smooth, curvy walls of Antelope Canyon?
Ages 5–8: Water carving. Pour a slow trickle of water over a pile of sand for five minutes. What shape does it carve?
Ages 9–12: Carving race. Which is faster at carving: people with tools, or water over thousands of years? Write a short comparison.
Finish with: "I found that Antelope Canyon was carved by ___."

Talk together:
Make a small plan: "This week, I will be patient like water and keep going with ___."
Action: Show someone your sand-carving experiment.
