4-I guide
This ayah continues: and your Lord comes, with the angels in rows upon rows.
Start with bismillah.
A gentle note for parents: this ayah is about the unseen. Keep it simple and leave deeper questions to a teacher.
Ask: "When we pray in jama'ah, why do we stand in straight rows?"
Watch the BBC video of a mother duck leading her ducklings in a line to safety.
Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "How are the angels standing?"
Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "What will that Day be like?" Younger children can draw theirs (but not the angels; draw rows of stars instead).
Find it in the mushaf: Surah Al-Fajr is surah 89. Find ayah 22. The key words saffan saffa mean rows upon rows. Allah 'comes' in a way that suits His greatness, unlike anything we know, without a body or a place; what this means exactly is for Allah, and your ustaz or ustazah can explain more. Ask your teacher what this ayah means.
Fact: Why do ducklings follow their mother in a line?
Ages 5–8: Row practice. Line up your toys in neat, straight rows. Then practise standing in a straight row for prayer with your family.
Ages 9–12: Order in nature. Find three examples of animals that move in lines or rows. Why does order help them?
Finish with: "I found that ducklings line up because ___."
Talk together:
Make a small plan: "This week, when I pray with others, I will stand straight in the row and ___."
Action: Stand in a straight row for prayer with your family.
