وَمَا نَقَمُوا۟ مِنْهُمْ إِلَّآ أَن يُؤْمِنُوا۟ بِٱللَّهِ ٱلْعَزِيزِ ٱلْحَمِيدِ
Wa mā naqamū min'hum' 'illā 'an yu''minū bi-llahi l-ʻazīzi l-ḥamīdi
And they ill-treated them for no other reason than that they believed in Allah, Exalted in Power, Worthy of all Praise!-

They had nothing against the believers except that they believed in Allah, the Almighty, the Praiseworthy.
Start with bismillah.
Show a pine cone if you have one. Ask: "What's hidden inside it?"

Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "Why were the believers harmed?"
Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "Why is believing in Allah worth standing firm for?" Younger children can draw theirs.
Find it in the mushaf: Surah Al-Buruj is surah 85. Find ayah 8. Look for two names of Allah: al-'Aziz (the Almighty) and al-Hamid (the Praiseworthy). The believers held on to their faith in the One who is mighty and worthy of all praise.
Fact: Why do some pine cones only open after a forest fire?
Ages 5–8: Cone watch. Put a closed pine cone in a warm, dry place and another in a bowl of water. What happens to each?
Ages 9–12: Fire and new life. Find out how forests regrow after a fire. Which plants come back first?
Finish with: "I found that some pine cones open when ___."
Talk together:
Make a small plan: "This week, I will say 'alhamdulillah for Islam' every night."
Action: Say 'alhamdulillah for Islam' every night.
