4-I guide
On that Day they will be kept behind a screen, away from their Lord.
Start with bismillah.
Breathe on a cold window and try to look through the misty patch. Ask: "What happens to the view?"
Watch the SciShow Kids video "Where Does Fog Come From?".
Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "What will happen to these people on that Day?"
Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "What does it mean to be close to Allah?" Younger children can draw theirs.
Find it in the mushaf: Surah Al-Mutaffifin is surah 83. Find ayah 15. The key word lamahjubun means screened off, kept away. Many scholars explain that this shows the believers will have the honour of being close to their Lord. We never try to imagine what Allah is like.
Fact: What is fog made of, and why does it disappear when the sun comes out?
Ages 5–8: Fog in a jar. With an adult, put warm water in a jar and a bag of ice on top. Watch a little cloud form inside.
Ages 9–12: Fog types. Find out the difference between fog, mist and cloud.
Finish with: "I found that fog is made of ___."

Talk together:
Make a small plan: "This week, I will make dua quietly by myself every night."
Action: Make dua quietly by yourself every night.

Use warm, not boiling, water for the fog jar, with an adult helping.
