4-I guide
Surah At-Takwir opens with the time when the Sun is folded up and its light is gone.
Start with bismillah.
Ask: "What would happen to plants, animals and people without the Sun?"
Watch the SciShow Kids video "What Is the Sun?".
Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "What will happen to the Sun?"
Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "Who keeps the Sun shining now?" Younger children can draw theirs.
Find it in the mushaf: Surah At-Takwir is surah 81, and it has twenty-nine ayat. Find ayah 1. The surah is named after the key word kuwwirat: wrapped up, folded up like a turban. The Sun shines only because Allah lets it.
Fact: What is the Sun made of, and how does it make light?
Ages 5–8: Sun diary. Draw where the Sun is in the sky at breakfast, lunch and teatime. How does it move?
Ages 9–12: Sun facts. Find out how big the Sun is compared with the Earth, and how long its light takes to reach us.
Finish with: "I found that the Sun is made of ___."

Talk together:
Make a small plan: "This week, when I see the Sun, I will say subhanAllah."
Action: This week, when you see the Sun, say subhanAllah.

Never look straight at the Sun, even for a moment.
