4-I guide
Woe to people, for they are so ungrateful to Allah.
Start with bismillah.
Take a slow, deep breath. Ask: "Where does the oxygen you just breathed come from?"
Watch the Next Generation Science video "What is Photosynthesis?".
Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "What does this ayah say about people?"
Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "Why do people forget to say thank you?" Younger children can draw theirs.
Find it in the mushaf: Surah 'Abasa is surah 80. Find ayah 17. The key words ma akfarah mean how ungrateful he is! Allah gives us countless gifts, like the air plants make for us, yet people often forget Him.
Fact: How do leaves make oxygen?
Ages 5–8: Thank-you list. Write or draw ten things you were given today without asking (air, sunlight, water…).
Ages 9–12: Leaf bubbles. Put a leaf in a glass of water in the sun for an hour. Look for tiny bubbles of oxygen.
Finish with: "I found that leaves make oxygen by ___."

Talk together:
Make a small plan: "This week, I will say alhamdulillah for three things before bed."
Action: Say alhamdulillah for three things before bed.
