Start with bismillah.

Ask: "Do we always want the easy choice?"

Play the short clip from Holy Qur'an of Mishary Alafasy reciting ayat 1–10 of Al-Anfal.

Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "Which group did the believers want?"

Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "Why did Allah choose the harder path for them?" Younger children can draw theirs.

Find it in the mushaf: Surah Al-Anfal is surah 8. Find ayah 7. There was a trade caravan and an army. The believers hoped for the caravan, the easy option. Allah's plan was bigger: to make the truth clear for everyone at Badr.

Fact: Who led the Makkan trade caravan? Abu Sufyan, who later became Muslim.

Ages 5–8: Easy or right. Talk about choosing right over easy.

Ages 9–12: Allah's plan. Write how Allah's plans are better than ours.

Finish with: "The caravan was led by Abu ___."

Talk together:

• What did they want?
• Which name of Allah does this remind you of?
• What did Allah want?
• When do you choose the easy way?

Make a small plan: "This week, I will choose the right way even if it is harder."

• Allah's plan is bigger.
• Choose right over easy.
• Trust Him.
• Next time: the next ayah (8:8) says the truth will stand. Explore it together!
