Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "What would end?"

Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "Why was the goal ending oppression, not revenge?" Younger children can draw theirs.

Find it in the mushaf: Surah Al-Anfal is surah 8. Find ayah 39. Early Muslims were persecuted for their faith. This ayah aimed to end that persecution so everyone could worship freely. If the attackers stopped, fighting had to stop too.

Fact: Find Al-Baqarah 2:256: there is no compulsion in religion.

Ages 5–8: Freedom to pray. Thank Allah that you can pray freely.

Ages 9–12: Goal of peace. Write why stopping oppression, not revenge, was the goal.

Finish with: "There is no ___ in religion."

Talk together:

• What was to end?
• Which name of Allah does this remind you of?
• Why stop when they stop?
• How can you help others be free?

Make a small plan: "This week, I will thank Allah for the freedom to pray."

• End oppression, not revenge.
• Thank Allah for freedom.
• Stop when they stop.
• Next time: the next ayah (8:40) says Allah is an excellent protector. Explore it together!
