4-I guide
He brought out from it its water and its pasture.
Start with bismillah.
Pour water onto a pot of soil. Ask: "Where does the water go?"
Watch the KQED video "What Is Groundwater?".
Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "What did Allah bring out of the earth?"
Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "How much water is hiding under the ground?" Younger children can draw theirs.
Find it in the mushaf: Surah An-Nazi'at is surah 79. Find ayah 31. The key words ma'aha wa mar'aha mean its water and its pasture. Water hidden in the earth makes grass grow for animals.
Fact: What is an aquifer?
Ages 5–8: Soak test. Pour water on sand, soil and clay in three cups. Which one lets water through fastest?
Ages 9–12: Water underground. Draw how rainwater soaks down, collects as groundwater and comes up in springs and wells.
Finish with: "I found that an aquifer is ___."

Talk together:
Make a small plan: "This week, I will save water and thank Allah for every drink."
Action: Save water and thank Allah for every drink.
