4-I guide
This ayah reminds us that sleep is a gift from Allah that lets our bodies and minds rest.
Start with bismillah.
Put a pillow in the middle of the room. Ask: "What would happen if nobody ever slept? Not people, not cats, not birds?" Let everyone guess.
Watch the short video of animals sleeping. Which animal's way of sleeping surprised you most? Would you like to sleep like that?
Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "What gift is this ayah talking about? Did you ever think of it as a gift?"
Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "Why does my body need to sleep at all?" Younger children can draw theirs.
Find it in the mushaf: Surah An-Naba' is surah 78, the first surah of Juz 'Amma. Find ayah 9. How many ayat come before it?
Fact: How many hours of sleep do children your age need each night?
Look it up together in a health book or a trusted health website, or ask your family doctor.
Ages 5–8: Be a sleep detective for three days. Draw a moon when you go to bed and a sun when you wake up. With a grown-up, count the hours in between.
Ages 9–12: Keep a sleep log for one week: bedtime, wake-up time, and how you felt in the morning (fresh, okay or tired). On which days did you feel best? What do you notice?
Finish with: "I found that I sleep about ___ hours, and I feel best when ___."
Talk together:
Make a small plan: "This week, before bed, I will ___ at ___ o'clock, with ___."
Action: Practise your bedtime plan for one week.

Make a "calm corner" for bedtime together: lights low, screens away, a quiet story. Try it tonight and talk in the morning about how everyone slept.
