4-I guide
For the tenth time, woe on that Day to those who deny, after refusing to bow.
Start with bismillah.
Pour a little water onto a dry sponge and onto a plastic plate. Ask: "Which one soaks it up?"
Watch the Little Shifu video about why sponges absorb water.
Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "How many times have we heard this line now?"
Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "How can I make my heart soak up reminders?" Younger children can draw theirs.
Find it in the mushaf: Surah Al-Mursalat is surah 77. Find ayah 49. This is the tenth and last time the line about the deniers appears. It follows ayah 48 about refusing to bow. Some hearts soak up reminders like a sponge; others let them run off like a plate.
Fact: Why do sponges hold so much water?
Ages 5–8: Soak test. Test a sponge, a cloth, paper and plastic. Which soaks up the most water?
Ages 9–12: Count the line. Look through the surah in your mushaf and find all ten places this line appears.
Finish with: "I found that sponges soak up water because ___."
Talk together:
Make a small plan: "This week, I will listen to each reminder like a sponge."
Action: Listen to each reminder like a sponge.
