4-I guide
No indeed, there will be no refuge at all.
Start with bismillah.
Ask: "What should you do if the ground starts shaking?"
Watch the Clackamas County video Drop, Cover, and Hold On.
Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "Is there any refuge?"
Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "What is our real safe place?" Younger children can draw theirs.
Find it in the mushaf: Surah Al-Qiyamah is surah 75. Find ayah 11. The key words kalla la wazar mean "no, there is no refuge." In an earthquake, we can shelter under a table. On that Day, no hiding place will help. Our only refuge is Allah's mercy.
Fact: Why is getting under a strong table safer in an earthquake?
Ages 5–8: Practise. Drop, cover and hold on under a table at home with an adult.
Ages 9–12: Safe spots. Walk around your home and mark the safest spot in each room.
Finish with: "I found that drop, cover and hold on keeps us safe because ___."

Talk together:
Make a small plan: "This week, I will practise our home safety plan with my family."
Action: Practise our home safety plan with your family.
