And do not give a favour hoping to get more in return.
Start with bismillah.
Ask: "Does a tree ask for anything back for the oxygen it gives us?"
Watch the FUNdamentalScience video How Do Trees Make Oxygen?
Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "How should we give?"
Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "Why is it better to give without wanting more?" Younger children can draw theirs.
Find it in the mushaf: Surah Al-Muddaththir is surah 74. Find ayah 6. The key words la tamnun tastakthir mean do not give a favour to get more. Trees give oxygen to everyone every day and ask nothing back. We give for Allah, not for gifts in return.
Fact: How much oxygen does one big tree make in a year?
Ages 5–8: Kind cards. Make a card for someone and give it without expecting anything back.
Ages 9–12: Leaf look. Look at a leaf under a magnifier. Find the tiny holes that let air in and out.
Finish with: "I found that one big tree makes enough oxygen for ___."

Talk together:
Make a small plan: "This week, I will do a favour and not mention it."
Action: Do a favour and not mention it.
