Ask: "What happens to a forest after a fire?"

Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "What two things is Allah described as?"

Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "How does Allah give us a fresh start?" Younger children can draw theirs.

Find it in the mushaf: Surah Al-Muddaththir is surah 74. Find ayah 56, the last ayah. The key words ahlut-taqwa wa ahlul-maghfirah mean the One worthy of being feared and the One who forgives. The surah ends with hope. After a fire, new green shoots appear. Allah forgives and gives fresh starts to those who turn back to Him.

Fact: Which plants are the first to grow back after a forest fire?

Ages 5–8: Fresh start. Draw a burnt tree with tiny green shoots growing around it.

Ages 9–12: Regrowth. Find out how long a forest takes to recover after a fire.

Finish with: "I found that ___ grows back first after a fire."
