4-I guide
Half of the night, or a little less than that.
Start with bismillah.
Cut an orange in half. Ask: "Are both halves exactly the same size?"
Watch the FuseSchool Kids video Fractions: One Half.
Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "What amount is mentioned?"
Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "Why does Allah give choices of time?" Younger children can draw theirs.
Find it in the mushaf: Surah Al-Muzzammil is surah 73. Find ayah 3. The key words nisfahu awinqus minhu qalila mean half of it, or a little less. Allah gave a range, not one exact amount, which shows His kindness.
Fact: How many hours is half of a 10-hour night?
Ages 5–8: Fair halves. Fold paper shapes in half. Do both sides match?
Ages 9–12: Night maths. Find how long tonight is from sunset to dawn. Work out a half and a third.
Finish with: "I found that half of tonight is about ___ hours."

Talk together:
Make a small plan: "This week, I will share something fairly in half with a sibling or friend."
Action: Share something fairly in half with a sibling or friend.
