يَوْمَ تَرْجُفُ ٱلْأَرْضُ وَٱلْجِبَالُ وَكَانَتِ ٱلْجِبَالُ كَثِيبًۭا مَّهِيلًا
Yaw'ma tar'jufu l-'ar'ḍu wal-jibālu wakānati l-jibālu kathīban mmahīlan
One Day the earth and the mountains will be in violent commotion. And the mountains will be as a heap of sand poured out and flowing down.

On that Day the earth and mountains will shake, and the mountains will become heaps of flowing sand.
Start with bismillah.
Pour dry sand into a pile and tap the table. Ask: "What happens to the pile?"
Watch the Awesome Chapters footage of sand dunes forming and moving.
Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "What will the mountains become?"
Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "How can something as strong as a mountain flow like sand?" Younger children can draw theirs.
Find it in the mushaf: Surah Al-Muzzammil is surah 73. Find ayah 14. The key words kathiban mahila mean a heap of sand pouring down. Sand dunes slowly move and slide. On that Day, even mountains will become like loose sand.
Fact: How fast can a sand dune move across a desert?
Ages 5–8: Sand slide. Make a sand pile on a tray. Gently tip the tray and watch the sand slide.
Ages 9–12: Dune shapes. Find the names of three dune shapes and how wind makes them.
Finish with: "I found that sand dunes can move about ___ a year."
Talk together:
Make a small plan: "This week, when I feel unsure, I will make dua for a firm heart."
