4-I guide
Be patient with what they say, and keep away from them in a gracious way.
Start with bismillah.
Ask: "What do you do when someone says something unkind?"
Watch the Kids In The House video about helping children deal with teasing.
Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "How should the Prophet respond?"
Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "How can I stay calm when people tease me?" Younger children can draw theirs.
Find it in the mushaf: Surah Al-Muzzammil is surah 73. Find ayah 10. The key words wahjurhum hajran jamila mean leave them in a beautiful way. People said hurtful things to the Prophet. He was told to be patient and to step away calmly, without fighting back with bad words. Reeds bend in the wind and stand up again.
Fact: Why do reeds bend in strong wind instead of breaking?
Ages 5–8: Calm words. Practise three calm things to say if someone teases you.
Ages 9–12: Walk away well. Role-play stepping away politely from an unkind conversation.
Finish with: "I found that reeds bend without breaking because ___."

Talk together:
Make a small plan: "This week, if someone is unkind, I will stay calm and walk away politely."
Action: This week, if someone is unkind, stay calm and walk away politely.
