Start with bismillah.

Ask: "If you were a tern flying from the Arctic to the Antarctic, what would you use as your guide?"

Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "Where does the Quran guide?"

Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "How does the Quran guide me?" Younger children can draw theirs.

Find it in the mushaf: Surah Al-Jinn is surah 72. Find ayah 2. The key words yahdi ilar-rushd mean it guides to what is right. As soon as the jinn heard it, they believed and promised to worship Allah alone. Birds have inner guides to find their way, and the Quran guides our hearts.

Fact: How far does an Arctic tern fly in a year?

Ages 5–8: Bird map. Draw a bird flying from a cold place to a warm place and back.

Ages 9–12: Inner compass. Find out how scientists discovered that some birds can sense Earth's magnetism.

Finish with: "I found that Arctic terns fly about ___ kilometres a year."

Talk together:

• What does it mean to believe as soon as you hear the truth?
• Which name of Allah does this remind you of?
• How does the Quran guide you each day?
• Why do we worship Allah alone?
• What would you like to ask about this ayah?

Make a small plan: "This week, I will follow one piece of Quran guidance in my actions."

• Follow one Quran teaching this week.
• Share your bird map.
• Tell someone how birds navigate.
• Next time: the next ayah (72:3) speaks of our Lord's majesty. Explore it together!

Action: Follow one piece of Quran guidance in your actions.
