إِنَّآ أَرْسَلْنَا نُوحًا إِلَىٰ قَوْمِهِۦٓ أَنْ أَنذِرْ قَوْمَكَ مِن قَبْلِ أَن يَأْتِيَهُمْ عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌۭ
'innā 'ar'salnā nūḥan 'ilā qaw'mihī 'an' 'andhir' qaw'maka min qab'li 'an ya''tiyahum' ʻadhābun 'alīmun
We sent Noah to his People (with the Command): "Do thou warn thy People before there comes to them a grievous Penalty."

Allah sent Nuh to his people, telling him to warn them before a painful punishment came.
Start with bismillah.
Look at the clouds outside. Ask: "Can clouds warn us that rain is coming?"
Watch the Dr. Binocs video Types of Clouds.
Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "Who did Allah send, and to whom?"
Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "Why does Allah send warners?" Younger children can draw theirs.
Find it in the mushaf: Surah Nuh is surah 71, and it has twenty-eight ayat. Find ayah 1. The surah is named after Prophet Nuh (peace be upon him). The key words arsalna nuhan ila qawmihi mean We sent Nuh to his people, and andhir means warn. Just as dark clouds warn of a storm, Allah sent messengers to warn people in time.
Fact: Which clouds usually bring storms?
Ages 5–8: Cloud spotter. Draw three kinds of clouds you see this week.
Ages 9–12: Weather signs. Find three cloud shapes that tell us what weather is coming.
Finish with: "I found that ___ clouds often bring storms."
Talk together:
