أَفَأَمِنُوا۟ مَكْرَ ٱللَّهِ ۚ فَلَا يَأْمَنُ مَكْرَ ٱللَّهِ إِلَّا ٱلْقَوْمُ ٱلْخَٰسِرُونَ
'Afa'aminū mak'ra -llahi . falā ya''manu mak'ra -llahi 'illā l-qaw'mu l-khāssirūna
Did they then feel secure against the plan of Allah?- but no one can feel secure from the Plan of Allah, except those (doomed) to ruin!

Did they really feel safe from Allah's plan, when only those who are losing feel safe from it?
Start with bismillah.
Ask: "Should we ever feel too sure about ourselves?"
For a few quiet minutes, listen to Islam Sobhi reciting Al-A'raf, shared by المصحف الكريم - Al Moshaf Al Karim.
Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "Who feels safe from Allah's plan?"
Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "Why is feeling too sure dangerous?" Younger children can draw theirs.
Find it in the mushaf: Surah Al-A'raf is surah 7. Find ayah 99. Believers balance hope and fear. Feeling totally safe while doing wrong is dangerous. We keep doing good and asking Allah to keep us steady.
Fact: The dua: 'Ya muqallib al-qulub, thabbit qalbi', O Turner of hearts, keep my heart firm.
Ages 5–8: Keep steady. Ask Allah to keep your heart steady.
Ages 9–12: Hope and fear. Write why we need both.
Finish with: "Only the ___ feel safe from Allah's plan."
Talk together:
Make a small plan: "This week, I will ask Allah to keep my heart steady."
Action: Ask Allah to keep your heart steady.
