فَأَخَذَتْهُمُ ٱلرَّجْفَةُ فَأَصْبَحُوا۟ فِى دَارِهِمْ جَٰثِمِينَ
Fa'akhadhat'humu rraj'fatu fa'aṣ'baḥū fī dārihim' jāthimīna
But the earthquake took them unawares, and they lay prostrate in their homes before the morning!

Start with bismillah.
Ask: "Why does the Qur'an repeat this ending?"
For a few quiet minutes, listen to Yasser Al-Dosari reciting Al-A'raf, shared by quran karem.
Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "What seized them?"
Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "What lesson does the repetition teach?" Younger children can draw theirs.
Find it in the mushaf: Surah Al-A'raf is surah 7. Find ayah 91. Like Thamud, Madyan was taken by an earthquake, mentioned calmly in one line. The repetition teaches that the same pattern happens to those who reject truth.
Fact: Compare 7:78 and 7:91. What is the same?
Ages 5–8: Spot the pattern. Find the same words in 7:78 and 7:91.
Ages 9–12: Patterns. Write what the repeated ending teaches.
Finish with: "Thamud and Madyan were both taken by an ___."
