فَمَا كَانَ دَعْوَىٰهُمْ إِذْ جَآءَهُم بَأْسُنَآ إِلَّآ أَن قَالُوٓا۟ إِنَّا كُنَّا ظَٰلِمِينَ
Famā kāna daʻ'wāhum' 'idh' jā'ahum ba''sunā 'illā 'an qālū 'innā kunnā ẓālimīna
When (thus) Our punishment took them, no cry did they utter but this: "Indeed we did wrong."

When the punishment came, all they could say was, 'We truly were wrongdoers.'
Start with bismillah.
Ask: "When is a good time to say 'I was wrong'?"
Quran Ruku posted a short recitation of ayat 1–10 of Al-A'raf. Listen to all of it together.
Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "What did they say?"
Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "Why is admitting wrong too late less helpful?" Younger children can draw theirs.
Find it in the mushaf: Surah Al-A'raf is surah 7. Find ayah 5. Those people admitted their wrong only when it was too late. Believers admit mistakes early and turn to Allah while they can still change.
Fact: Find the dua of Adam and Hawwa later in this surah, 7:23.
Ages 5–8: Say it early. Practise saying 'I was wrong, sorry' straight away.
Ages 9–12: Early tawbah. Write why admitting mistakes early is better.
Finish with: "Adam and Hawwa's dua is in ayah 7:___."
Talk together:
Make a small plan: "This week, I will admit my mistakes straight away."
Action: Admit your mistakes straight away.
